Terms of Service — Auctioneer

These terms apply to the Auctioneer game app and this website. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

1. The game is in beta

Auctioneer is in active development. Features can change or disappear, the service can be interrupted, and things will break from time to time. Please treat it as a work in progress.

Beta progress may be reset. Before the full release, decks may be reset to the starter deck, and in-game currency earned during the beta may be adjusted, converted at a rate we decide, or capped. We will announce any such change in advance. Play the beta because it is fun, not as an investment of time you expect to keep untouched.

2. Your account

You need an account to play. Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Provide an email address you actually control; we use it for account recovery.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Pick a username that is not offensive and does not impersonate someone else. We may change or remove usernames that break this.

3. In-game currency and unlockable content

In-game currency has no real-world value. It cannot be exchanged for money, transferred between accounts, or sold.
Cards and other content you unlock are a licence to use them inside the game, not property you own.
If paid purchases are added later, the terms and refund rules of the app store you bought through will apply.
Currency and unlocks are lost when you delete your account. That is permanent.

4. Fair play

Do not:

cheat, exploit bugs, or modify the game or its network traffic to gain an advantage;
use bots, scripts or automation to play on your behalf;
create accounts to manipulate rankings, statistics or rewards;
harass other players or use offensive names or messages;
attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.

If you find a bug that gives an unfair advantage, please report it instead of using it.

5. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and remove unfairly gained progress. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

You can delete your own account at any time: in the app under Profile → Delete account, or via this page.

6. Ownership

The game, its artwork, card designs, names and code belong to the developer. You may record and share gameplay footage — videos, streams and screenshots are welcome. You may not copy the artwork or the game itself for your own product.

7. Availability and liability

The game is provided as it is. We cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage or lost progress. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

8. Privacy

What data we collect and why is described in our privacy policy.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and significant changes will be announced in the game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
